“The answer must come from within-but, when?”
Luke 12:35-38
We’ve all been there. Someone shows up at our home unexpectedly, and we scramble to bring order to the visible areas before opening the door. Or maybe we remain quiet, pretending not to be there, hoping they would go away. We are not ready to receive them.
There’s a spiritual equivalent too – Who me?! I can’t serve on the altar, I’m not good enough. I don’t know how to pray with people. I could never be a Catechist, I don’t know enough. We hesitate, putting off our response because ‘we’re not ready’; but time waits on no one.
I believe ‘being ready’ simply means being willing to serve according to our season in life. God Himself will give us the grace and the ability.
How many times must Christ call to us, before His message is heard;
How many times must He knock at our door, before we answer His call;
The answer dear friends, must come from within. But…when?
Let us be ready to answer, whenever the Master knocks.
