Luke 17:11-19
Do not think for a minute that you are healed when you are only being cured of your ailment.
You are not made well by healing.
All is not well with your soul until the ‘fat lady sings.’
‘Go and show yourself to the priest’ is simply to get reinstated and to gain re-entry into the accepted community; which in itself is a huge take and in many ways satisfactory; but it is not the final and kingdom-acceptable truce with the healer.
Stop, turn round, drop on your knees, let your heart be lifted-up in thanksgiving and praise. In ‘thanksgiving and praise’ is the cherry on the cake. This is the final hurdle; don’t drop the baton here.
Listen for the hum of acceptance from the universe. The song of enchantment and the music: ‘all is well with my soul’ rose up with a surge of feeling that scattered across the evening into the neighbour’s house, my house, the priest house, the bar, the brothel, the police station…. everywhere is blessed when one man turns round to give thanks to the Lord.
