Saturday October 4th: The Joy of God

I thank God for sending Jesus to teach me what God is all about.

Luke 10: 17 – 24

Today’s gospel can be applied to so many areas of our lives. I think it puts things in perspective for us. The disciples came back rejoicing because of all the miracles they had performed. I really don’t think they were being boastful. They were joyous that they were able to do God’s work.

Jesus then said, they should rejoice because their names were written in heaven. I had to think long and hard to see the difference. The rest of the gospel enlightened me. The only true joy comes from knowledge of God and our relationship with Him.

I thank God for sending Jesus to teach me what God is all about.  I am so grateful for the Bible and Sacred Tradition that remind me of the true nature of God. I pray I will always remember the source of true joy.
