Tuesday 16th September: The power of trusting in the Word of God

“Young man, I tell you, arise!”

Luke 7:11-19

In today’s world life seems overwhelming for many of us with meetings, work, chores, study, etc. Added to these are the other challenges of life, job loss, family members seem lost, drug addiction, and the list of stressful events can go on and on. We seem ‘dead’ at times just going through the motions. Life and joy are lost in the rat race as we try to cope.

Today’s Gospel passage takes us through this emotion. But Jesus spoke a word, “Young man, I tell you, arise!” This is the word we must speak over our lives. The Word of God has the power to transform any situation. Today we claim this word over our lives.

Lord Jesus, thank you for the Words of Power and blessings that you speak over our lives. Today we claim this word: “I tell you, arise”. Amen.
