Luke 4 :38 -44
Today’s gospel has many lessons.
The first lesson is, when God heals us, we must serve Him.
Do not “show off” as we say in Trinidad, is another lesson. I pray that I have the humility of Jesus and not crave recognition.
Jesus always went to a lonely place. There are two Convents that I remember where one can arrange to spend the day or longer. One is in Gran Couva, run by Dominican Sisters, The Woman at the Well and the other is Emmaus Centre in Arima, run by Cluny Sisters.
This Jubilee year, especially during the week, the Sacred Sites are peaceful with very few persons visiting. We can imitate Jesus and find a quiet spot in the churches or on the grounds. Meditation and retreats are also ways to escape.
I pray I can remember to practice the lessons of today’s gospel.
