The Feast of the Transfiguration
“This is my Son, my Chosen; listen to him.”
Luke 9: 28 – 36
Sometimes, praying early in the morning and watching the sun rise over the hills makes the world feel brighter than usual. The Samaan trees glow gold, the breeze feels like God’s breath, and life’s struggles feel light for a moment.
That is what the Transfiguration was – a glimpse of glory hidden in ordinary life. Jesus showed Peter, James, and John who He truly was, radiant, divine, beloved by the Father. It wasn’t just about dazzling light; it was God’s way of reminding them that there is always hope beyond tiredness, confusion, or fear.
Right here, too, yes! God still reveals His glory here in this land of poui blooms, coconut, doubles and roti sellers, traffic, and quick Hail Marys whispered on maxi and water taxis.
When work drains strength, family life overwhelms, and prayers feel empty, remember that hidden within the everyday is God’s shining presence, saying, “This is My Son, My Chosen; listen to Him.”
May we see His light today and carry it back down the mountain into our ordinary roads.
