Thursday July 31st: Do you understand?

“Have you understood all this?” Jesus asked His disciples.

Matthew 13:47-53

We answer, “Yes”, with the disciples.

Often, we see Castara fishermen “pulling seine,” and hovering birds feeding on discarded fish, thrown out because they are otherwise useless.

We remember picking rice and cleaning peas, separating the rotten grains and stones from the wholesome grains.

We understand clearly how “many are called but few are chosen” and imagine the CHURCH, a giant dragnet, welcoming all, indiscriminately! … until angels eventually separate.

We perceive the Scribe advocating the Old Law; but we know the householder -The Christian Scribe – who, schooled in the entire WORD, believes that Jesus’ New Law completes the Old.

So, the Christlike preaches, teaches and Lives according to the New Testament gospel, proclaimed by The Redeemer.

Some in this great dragnet attain knowledge and practice of THE WORD. Others, though in their midst, remain incapable of being saved. They suffer because they are not TRUE to the WAY and the LIFE.

Yes, Lord. We understand all this.
