Thursday July 24th: My eyes, what do they see?

‘They have shut their eyes, for fear they should see with their eyes’

Matthew 13:10-17

What do I see with my eyes? Do I see my daily sufferings, my weaknesses, all that I desire and do not have, my failed plans and do I compare with others because of what I see and go around whining?

Jesus is reminding me to be happy with my eyes because they see, because many prophets and holy men longed to see what I see and never saw.

Am I a person of gratitude? Do I see my daily blessings and see myself and all that I possess as gifts from God?

Lord, I pray change my heart, open my eyes to see your goodness in me and in everyone that I meet. May my eyes see all that I have and possess, both good and bad, as gifts from you to transform me from within, to become the child of God that you have called me to be.

Lord Jesus, thank you for revealing yourself to me.
