St Mary’s, Fatima students receive First Communion

On Monday July 7, 21 students of both St Mary’s College (CIC) and Fatima College received the Sacrament of First Holy Communion. Among the group were four students of St Mary’s College who also received the Sacrament of Baptism.

Celebrating the Mass were Fr Gregory Augustine CSSp, Chairman of the Holy Ghost Fathers’ Board, and Frs Isaac Umoru CSSp and Bernardino Ejezie CSSp, the two chaplains at the colleges. The ceremony was held at Fatima College’s chapel.

Present at the ceremony were also parents, godparents, and well-wishers. Also in attendance representing CIC were Jacinta Honore, Acting Vice Principal; Michele Mohammed, former Vice Principal; Brian Charles, Head of the Religion Department, and Nigel Joseph, representing the Holy Ghost Fathers’ Board of Management. Fatima College’s Acting Principal, Gilliam Ramdass and some of their teachers were also in attendance. In a video screen grab, a CIC student is baptised by Fr Umoru, and students receive their First Communion.
