Saturday June 28th: Meh Mother

“But his mother treasured all these things in her heart.”

Luke 2:41-51

It had ah time I went to my school bazaar and my parents told me that they wanted me by the front gate by six o’ clock. But the disco was pumping and I forgot about them. That was before cell phones, so my parents know they sent dey mooksy lil daughter to a party and she was nowhere in sight. They end up coming inside the bazaar and next thing I hear the DJ stop the music to say that my parents looking for me!!!!

Jesus was lucky because if Mary was my Trini mother, it would ah be licks like rain. Because first of all yuh didn’t listen, second, yuh too own way, and third … yuh back answering too?

But not Mary. Mary’s heart was pure and trusting, big enough to hold confusion, faith, and love all in one breath. She didn’t rush to understand—she reflected.

This Gospel reminds us that regardless of what we may be going through, we must trust God’s plan. Mary showed us how to hold on to God’s word, not always with answers, but with peace.
