“Love your enemies”
Matthew 5:43-48
Love is the high call of every Christian: love God and love others. To truly love, we must love in an all-inclusive way, not just those we like. The real test of Christianity is if we can love those who hate or wrong us.
There are three steps we must consider if we are to love in an all-inclusive way.
First, we must know that love is more than an emotion; it is a decision to be love itself in thoughts, words, and deeds.
Secondly, we must acknowledge God as love itself and only when we are in harmony with God can we love like God. Thirdly, we must find ways to unite with God, in constant prayer, in adoration, the Eucharist, in special devotions like rosary, pilgrimages, novenas, Divine Mercy, study of Sacred Scripture and service to others.
Dear Glorious Trinity, pour yourself into us to mold and guide our hearts so we may always love in an all-inclusive way. Help us to love the ones who offend us so that your love may reign on this earth. Amen
