John 17:20-26
Dear Sons and Daughters of the King,
Your Abba loves you and from the beginning of time, it was His desire to unite Himself to you for all eternity. The Fall caused a separation and broke His heart, so He sent His Son as breach- mender, restorer of all things, to bring us back to Him.
Our God loves us so intimately, so insanely that His death was not the end. His desire to be united with us was so great that He asked His Son to remain a prisoner until His second coming; to risk being treated with sacrilegious contempt; to hide His glory in a small, thin wafer, the Eucharist, because no man can see God and live.
Father, be one with us as You are one with your Son and the Holy Spirit. In this special month of the Sacred Heart, make us know Your love so we can make our way back home to You and never depart. Amen.
