Wednesday June 4th: The Word of God

Jesus asked the Father to protect us, how comforting!

John 17:11-19

Jesus actually prayed for us! Can you imagine? He asked the Father to protect us, how comforting!

I am amazed that Jesus is saying that we can be as close to God, the Father, as He was. Jesus wanted to share His joy with us, all we have to do is keep His Word.

The expectations Jesus has for us are high. I often wonder if I can fulfil what Jesus wants of me. It seems so simple: we should be true to His Name, I still have difficulty in understanding exactly what that means. Can I live up to the qualities, expectations or reputation associated with the name of God? I always need help with this. Am I being a good Christian?

Jesus is sending me out into the world, Am I doing a good job of evangelizing?

I pray for the direction of The Holy Spirit.
