“If the world hates you, you must realize that it hated me before it hated you.”
John 15:18-21
It ent easy to know that you standing up for truth, embracing your Christian values, acting out of the courage of your convictions, even though it may be unpopular, and you getting hit left, right and centre.
That ever happen to you, in your workplace, in your family, in your community and even in your church? Well, there’s nothing new under the sun. If is any consolation to you, it happen to Jesus too. So, you in good company.
When these things happen the first inclination is to turn tail and run because if you stand up to face it, you will let them have it good and proper. But when you remember the words of Jesus in the gospel today, “A servant is not greater than the master. If they persecute me, they will persecute you too.” What else you could do but hold you head up high and pray for God’s grace to carry through with what He want you to do.
Lord, put a hand and help us to follow through with your plan. Amen.
