Pray your Holy Spirit Novena this year at St Theresa’s Parish, Woodbrook, every evening from May 31 to June 8. There’s Holy Mass every day—weekends from 5 p.m., weekdays at 6 p.m.
Together we’ll praise, pray, and be fired by insights from committed servants, including Dr Wendy-Ann Jones of Eternal Light Community, Msgr Michael de Verteuil and Rosemary Scott of Living Water Community, Sr Patrice Simmons SJC, and Northern Vicariate Vicar, Fr Matthew d’Hereaux.
With music by People of Praise; Living Water Community; Christopher Phillips; The Germain Family; the St Philip and St James Parish Choir, Chaguanas; and St Theresa’s Parish Choir, Woodbrook, we’ll make a joyful noise to the Lord as we wait for the power that comes from on high.
“Why this excitement and enthusiasm about the Holy Spirit? Why is it important?” asks St Theresa’s parish priest, Fr Carlyle Guiseppi CSSp. “Jesus tells us in Luke 24:49: ‘Stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.’ The Holy Spirit Novena is about learning who the Holy Spirit is and opening ourselves to that power from on high so we can live the life God has asked us to.
“It’s not that we don’t know the Holy Spirit, but it is an ongoing process of knowing and releasing the Holy Spirit within us. It is about knowing what the Holy Spirit can do, opening ourselves to Him and welcoming Him.”
And so, you are welcome to come and see. Security will be provided for parked cars. —Laura Ann Phillips
