“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples if you have love for one another.”
John 13:31-35
If Jesus was a Trini, he would have told his disciples that their love for one another must stand out like a Poui tree in April.
Our dear, late Pope Francis lived his life like a poui. His love for the poor and marginalized, his humility and his deep faith were deeply evident and will forever live rent free in our memories.
This thought calls for some introspection. How do I want to be remembered? If I were to leave my job, my parish, country what will people say about their interaction with me? Will they say that I loved everyone or that I left them with a bad taste in their mouth?
Our legacy on this earth will be marked by how we make others feel after we leave. To be that Poui, means that our love must stand out. We must choose to live our lives in such a way that the hope, healing and love that we bring to this hurting world glorify the Father and draw souls for the kingdom.
