“Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.”
John 3: 1-8
My cousin Micheal became a Catholic and received his First Holy Communion on Glorious Saturday night. I drove for miles to a remote church in south Trinidad to witness it with my own eyes.
Micheal was a passionate and devoted born again Christian; He was a decent good-looking, well-dressed Bible toting born again Christian. One day he started searching for the real Jesus and for ten years he wandered to various churches and could not find what he was yearning for.
By accident one day he found himself in a vibrant little Catholic church! And there he discovered the source and summit of the Christian faith. He found his home in the Eucharist and dedicated the next three years of his life to being in communion with the Catholic faith.
I pray that we all receive this invitation to renewal, and let us also encourage each other to seek a deeper relationship with God and embrace the new life offered through the Spirit.
