“Lastly, He showed Himself to the eleven.”
Mark 16:9-15
Sometimes, God waits to see our responses to trials and trauma. Although Jesus had been preparing them for this, the disciples probably felt lost and fearful. His death was the ultimate trauma for them.
Interestingly verse 14 starts: “Lastly.” Lastly, He showed Himself to the eleven and reproached them for not believing those who had told them that they had seen Him alive.
People share their testimonies with us. However, oftentimes we are so caught up in our own realities we can at times be doubtful and need proof. There have been moments in my own life when I have gone through traumatic situations. Mourning and in tears like Peter and the others, I ask,“God where are You?” “What now?!”
It’s only when we experience that encounter with Jesus’ real presence, and believe in the glory of His Resurrection, as Peter and the others eventually did, can we in turn
“Go out, and with confidence, share His Good News to all.”
