The public is invited to the ‘Joyful Canticles’ concert on Sunday, May 4, at 6 p.m. at the St Francis of Assisi RC Church, Belmont.

It is billed as a show to fill the heart with joy and uplift your spirit, all while supporting a great cause. The concert will feature a mix of musical selections—Classical, Religious, Spiritual, Folk, and Musical Theatre pieces.

Performances will showcase the talents of Wendy Sheppard, Hermina Charles, Nigel Floyd, Marvin Smith, Vanessa Bushe, MW Voices, and the St Francis of Assisi Choir.

Originally scheduled for Saturday, May 3 and Sunday, the concert will now be held on Sunday only. Organisers advise that tickets purchased for Saturday are still valid for Sunday or can be refunded. Tickets cost $250 for one or $400 for two.

According to Kory Mendez of MW Production, the title ‘Joyful Canticles’ pays homage to the Canticle of the Sun, written by St Francis of Assisi, which celebrates his love for creation and the divine.

The event is a fundraiser for the ongoing refurbishment of St Francis of Assisi Church. “Through the power of music, we come together to honour St Francis and contribute to the ongoing revitalisation of this sacred space. Don’t miss this unforgettable experience filled with music, joy, and community spirit!” he said.
