From Delaford to Calvary

As faithful members of the Sacred Heart Parish on the eastern end of Tobago— comprising Goodwood, Roxborough, Speyside and Delaford—we joined with Catholics universally on Good Friday, journeying through the streets from Delaford to Roxborough to commemorate the Passion and Crucifixion of Jesus. Throughout the procession, participants re-enacted Jesus’ final journey to the cross, while meditating on the mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary and the Fourteen Stations of the Cross. This spiritual walk became a miniature pilgrimage, offering each participant the opportunity to walk, in spirit, the same path Jesus took to Calvary.

Moreover, this procession served as a reminder of the struggles and burdens that we face in our own lives. However, most importantly, it pointed us to Christ— in whom we can find the strength to endure our very own sufferings— as we pursue moral excellence along a journey paved with the fiery trials of self-sacrifice, and where the gold of integrity is refined in the crucible of our daily choices. —A parishioner
