Friday April 4th: God’s Will and Time

“His hour had not yet come.”

John 7:1-2,10,25-30

Today’s Gospel highlights the tension between Jesus and the people in Jerusalem who are confused about Him. Some recognise His wisdom and miracles and wonder if He is truly the Messiah. Others doubt, while the authorities want to arrest Him, but they cannot — because His hour has not yet come.

The passage invites us to trust God’s time and will. Jesus moves with full confidence in the Father’s will. He does not rush ahead in fear, nor does He shrink back in doubt. He knows that everything unfolds according to God’s will and time.

This Lent we are invited to surrender to God’s time. Sometimes we want instant answers, immediate results, or a quick resolution to our struggles. But Jesus teaches us patience and trust. He reminds us that we are on a journey — not only through Lent but through life — and that we must walk with faith, knowing that God is in control.

The word today is – trust God. Accept His will and time.
