Saturday March 29th: The True Spirit of Repentance

“This man I tell you, went home again justified; the other did not.”

Luke 18: 9-14

The Pharisee had a conversation with himself about himself, but the Tax Collector had an encounter with God. ‘God have mercy on me a sinner’…Sincere, remorseful, humble, effective and to the point!

People who have much to repent for are always so grateful that God has extended mercy, grace, love and forgiveness to them. When thinking about their unworthiness, they just cannot waste words but must express the sincere, overwhelming and heartfelt gratitude that flows from within.

An encounter with God reveals who He is and how He intends for us to live. When we have that encounter, we can only express with passion our heartfelt thanks for His enduring love that is always available to us.

Lord, help us to keep our eyes on You and our heart attuned to Your will for our lives. Help us to live as You see us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
