Wednesday March 12th: Call to Redemption

“On the day of judgment, … will rise up with this generation and condemn it..”.

Luke 11: 29-32

In today’s Gospel, we see the lives of the inhabitants of Nineveh and the Queen of the South changed because they recognised the value of the signs of Jonah and Solomon respectively.  Jesus, the Son of Man, is greater than those signs, and our encounter with Him should always lead us to be better versions of ourselves and true disciples.

We are warned that if we, this generation, do not repent, we will be condemned. Especially as Pilgrims of Hope during this Jubilee Year, we are called to repent our sins, past hurts, unforgiveness, jealousy, resentment , that we have hidden deep in our hearts.  Do we have difficulty seeing someone other than the hurt they caused? Do we feel it is impossible to pray for or even speak to that person?

Let’s open our hearts this year, because there is something greater than Jonah or Solomon here, that will help us be healed, saved and freed.

Lord, help us to recognise the signs leading us to repent so that we will not be condemned.
