Eighteen years serving Guyana community

GUYANA

The Sisters of the Servants of the Lord and the Virgin of Matara (SSVM) joyfully marked 18 years since their arrival in the “beautiful Land of Many Waters”, Guyana on January 23.

A Facebook post from Catholic Media Guyana said that since Mother Rosa Mystica and Sr Santo Nino first came to Guyana, followed by Sr Gloria and Sr Passi, the SSVM Sisters have dedicated themselves to “serving as Spouses of Christ and Mothers to Souls to the communities of Region 2, Essequibo, Guyana.”

Their journey has been filled with love, compassion, and a commitment to the community. When asked to reflect on their 18 years in the Diocese, Superior of the SSVM sisters, Mother Sanguinis gave thanks to God for “the many graces and fruits” of the last 18 years.
