“The Son of man will be delivered into the hands of men”…
Mark 9:30-37
Jesus often talked in parables, that is, by telling a story.
Then he would say, “Those who have ears to hear, let them hear.”
Sometimes, his own chosen disciples did not even understand.
Today he told them, “The Son of Man will be delivered into the hands of men;
they will put him to death; and three days after he has been
put to death, he will rise again.” Did this make any sense to his disciples?
Does this make any sense to us? Have we seen Jesus or
a dead person come back to life after three days in a tomb
or grave, with severe wounds not only in hands and feet,
but also pierced through the side to the heart?
This is incredible to us as it was then, to Jesus’ disciples.
However, they were afraid to ask him to explain.
Jesus’ words came to pass. He rose from the dead.
He said, “He who believes in me, shall be saved.”
Do you want to be saved? If so, what must you do?
