With hearts full of gratitude and joy, we celebrate the remarkable milestone of 70 years of marriage for our beloved Calthorpe and Pearl Rivas from Trinidad and Tobago.
Married on December 18, 1954, at St John the Baptist RC Church in San Juan, this extraordinary couple, now aged 94 and 90, recently marked their platinum anniversary surrounded by family and friends in Maryland, USA.
To commemorate this momentous occasion, the couple was honoured with a Papal Blessing from Pope Francis in recognition of their 70 years of love and commitment to one another.
Their union has been blessed with seven children and their spouses: Marlene (Ronneil), Claude (Rosa), Margaret (Ron), Marcus (Paula), Robert (deceased), (Janice), Angela (Gerald), and Francisca (Jorgen). They are proud grandparents to Nicole, Kelly, Miguella, Miguel, Michelle, Bobby, Stephanie, Ronald Jr, Markie, Emily, and Erik; great-grandparents to eleven; and great-great-grandparents to one.
In Trinidad, the Rivas are cherished members of Holy Cross RC Church in Santa Cruz. When in Maryland, USA, they faithfully worship at St Pius RC Church in Bowie.
On behalf of all their family and friends, we thank God for His continued grace and guidance in their lives. Their enduring love and commitment are a testament to the power of faith and unity.
As they journey forward, God willing, to their 71st wedding anniversary, we celebrate their unwavering bond and pray for continued blessings upon them.
May their story inspire us all to cherish and honour the beauty of love and family.
