Sunday February 9th: Change is calling on change

“Put out into deep water.

Luke 5:1-11

If you have labored all night without a single catch, then it stands to reason that it is time to put out into deeper water and pay out your net for a catch. The fish is not waiting around; they have long migrated from the shallow, churned-up water.
With eyes wide open we see and continue seeing; and all things in our field of vision get taken for granted. We see the empty nets and we brood. We become full with emptiness. Stagnancy. The same-ol, same-ol. Mook-notony.
Change is calling on change. Deep is calling on deep. Approach each day with fresh eyes. Today is all we have; tomorrow is not promised. One spark could start a conflagration; one step starts a journey of a thousand miles; one stroke of a pen; one word uttered at the right time and in the right place could start the change that we have waited on for so long. Then we will leave everything and follow that voice to thy kingdom come and thy will be done.
