“How can satan drive out satan?”
Mark 3: 22-30
Can anyone doubt that a kingdom divided against itself will fall?
Well, Jesus made the point that the devil will not fight against himself.
Why? Reflect on this. If you beat up yourself, will you not suffer?
If you are on a team, say, a football/soccer team, and you score
against your team’s goalkeeper, then you will make the other side
victorious.
If Jesus were working with Beelzebul, would he cast out the devil
or a demon? He would be working against Beelzebul’s plan to
inhabit and destroy people’s souls, and to lead people away from God.
Therefore, it is not the spirit of Beelzebul in Jesus. It is the Holy Spirit of God in him, unlike what the Scribes were saying: “an unclean spirit is in him.”
Jesus gave a stern warning: “but let anyone blaspheme against
the Holy Spirit, and he will never have forgiveness. He is guilty of
an eternal sin.”
