“I did not come to call the righteous but sinners.”
Mark 2:13-17
The well does not need the doctor but the sick. In today’s Gospel Jesus helps us embrace an incarnation spirituality. We just came out of the Christmas season where we celebrated the Incarnation: God (Divine) becoming human.
God’s method to save His people was not one of waving His hand but one of love where He allowed Himself to commune with us and be vulnerable to us. This is what we are called to live, the incarnation life, bringing God into every space and situation. We do not stay away to be righteous. We can be in the world but not of the world.
Let us pray to immerse ourselves in situations so that God can transform them. Let us allow tax collectors and sinners to eat with us so we can influence them. Let us love as God loves. Amen
