Sunday December 22nd: Happiness multiplied

Let us also take every opportunity to share the good news and the happiness that is felt in our hearts…

Luke 1:39-45.

Happiness was multiplied. Mary’s good news made her happy and Elizabeth’s good news make her happy. Both of them were made happy when they realised that each of them had experienced the favour, power and wonder of God in their lives. However, the real happiness, that could not be contained, was how they felt when they accepted the will of God.

This Christmas and every day of our lives, let us spend time in prayer, obeying His word and asking Him to reveal His will for us, and with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to be given wisdom, knowledge, understanding, courage, patience and faith to be open to God choosing us to do His will.

Let us also take every opportunity to share the good news and the happiness that is felt in our hearts with everyone we meet as we reflect the mind of Christ and do His will. Then we can all say like Jesus, ‘…not my will, but Your will be done.’ Amen.
