“Blessed are the eyes that see what you see”
Luke 10:21-24
In today’s Gospel we are reminded of the innocence of children, and we recognize how Jesus uses this imagery to get the message on humility across to His disciples. In today’s world we often look down on the unlearned, and place those with long letters behind their names high on the pedestal. Here however, Jesus is stating that knowledge about the kingdom was given to those who are childlike. The process of becoming a Synodal church readily takes centre stage. The Holy Father desires to have everyone involved and participating, including those living on the margin of society.
Jesus makes it known that it is those chosen by Him who will know the Father and the Son. “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see “. What then should we be seeing in today’s world? For sure we should be standing up against injustice and performing the corporal works of mercy.
Let us all pray to be like children in this regard that we may see and respond to the needs of brothers and sisters.
