“Jesus, son of David, have pity on me.”
Luke 18:35-43
What is that one unanswered prayer on your heart today? Have you been dealing with chronic illness or injury? Or perhaps you have been praying for a spouse, child or financial breakthrough for a long time. What is that addiction or situation that has been keeping you in bondage?
What is that one sin that you are struggling with? Is it sloth? Do you procrastinate and can’t seem to finish what you have started or meet deadlines? Or perhaps it is anger. Do you fly off the handle quickly, hold onto grudges? What about envy? Do you compare yourself to others and feel discontented with your own life? Is it gluttony, lust, avarice, or pride?
Do these unanswered prayers leave you feeling frustrated, bitter, reproachful, powerless, or overwhelmed? You’re not alone. Today, Jesus is passing in the Holy Eucharist and the confessional to heal, restore, deliver and save. Today, call out all the more loudly to him, surrender and trust that he will work things out for your good.
Jesus, Son of David, have pity on me!
