Steps for Hope activities

For the past 132 years, The Catholic News brand has traditionally been identified with its weekly paper, both in print and digitally via its website. In 2024, The Catholic News started utilising the ‘Steps for Hope’ title, as an overarching brand for organising various initiatives linked to the Jubilee year’s theme, Pilgrims of Hope.

Organising activities different to its original focus, also facilitates broadening The Catholic News’ brand identity and awareness in the national community. Consequently, this expands the public’s perception of The Catholic News throughout the country.

The first use of the Steps for Hope brand was for the highly successful Steps for Hope 5K/1K Walk/Run in May this year, with over 600 participants. Other activities and experiences under the Steps for Hope branding is the newly launched Activity Club, which encourages persons to get involved in health-based and volunteer activities.

Another new and exciting initiative will be the Steps for Hope pilgrimages which will start this year. Our first is a fun yet contemplative all-inclusive experience at Lopinot Village on October 26. Other pilgrimages will be planned for next year in celebration of Jubilee 2025.

We hope to support the synodal goals of inclusion, diversity and community through the multiple activities organised under the Steps for Hope brand of The Catholic News and invite all parishioners to get involved in these initiatives.
