Wednesday September 18th: Responding to the Word

“Then to what shall I compare the people of this generation? What are they like?

Luke 7:31 – 35

What is our response to the Gospel message? Today’s Gospel challenges us to reflect on our response to the Gospel message. The Gospel is Good News to both saints and sinners. It is News about life and living it in abundance and in eternity. Are these concepts important and integral to our lives? Do the teachings of the Gospel fall on deaf ears?

God’s call is to live life in a very conscious way or else we will live a lost life. A lost life will be one where we are searching and do not even know we are searching, and the distractions of the world will guide us away from the Word. Let us pay heed to the Gospel messages on a daily basis and examine our lives daily. God is love.

Lord Jesus, you came to show us the way. Help us heed your call. Amen
