“Let the children come unto me”
Matthew 18:13-15
Children are simple and curious. They want to know. They are eager and open to new experiences but can sense when something does not feel right. Are we like children? Or are we calculating everything out?
Today’s Gospel guides us to be child-like and to seek Jesus in a trusting, open way as children do. When our hearts are simplified as that of a child then God can reveal himself to us and guide us in the way of truth, goodness and beauty.
Let us pray for childlike hearts. Lord, empty me of all that has cluttered my mind and heart so that I can be filled with you. I can come to know you truly as you are and not be clouded by my clutter. Lord, help me to know you, love you and serve you as a child. I surrender myself as a child of God. Amen
