Often in family and community life we are called upon to do things, which may not be our duty, but which we do for the sake of peace.
This behavior is one of the beatitudes- Blessed are the peacemakers because they will be called sons of God.
Jesus by asking Simon – ‘from whom do kings take toll and tax – from sons or others?’ can be said to be a peacemaker.
Today’s Gospel challenges us to be also peacemakers. When we do, we are acting like ‘sons of God’
