Saturday July 27th: The wisdom of God

“Let them both grow till the harvest…”

Matthew 13: 24 – 30

In this parable, God is represented by the owner of the wheat field. The enemy / devil is represented by the one who sowed weeds. If one had pulled up the weeds some of the wheat, representing the faithful people, and also the vulnerable ones closer to the wheat, would have been damaged.
What would you have done if you were the owner of the wheat field? Would you have sought revenge and retaliated at once? Or would you have prayed about it and sought the guidance of the Holy Spirit of God first of all?

This reminds me of a teacher who, when an enemy had damaged the water line so the school would be flooded and everyone there affected, prayed for God’s wisdom. Then she locked off the main pipeline to the taps in the school. Guided by the Holy Spirit, the teacher worked for the good of the staff and students, especially the most vulnerable ones, as God does in his wisdom.

The kingdom of heaven is ruled by God’s wisdom.
