“As you go, proclaim the good news, ‘The Kingdom of Heaven has come near’”
Matthew 10: 1-7
When Jesus called the twelve apostles to go and proclaim the Good News, He also gave them authority to cast out unclean spirits and to cure every disease. This invitation was such a solemn one that He called each one by name and anointed each one individually. This call to mission also included Judas Iscariot, whom Jesus knew would betray Him.
When Jesus calls us to mission, He calls us IN SPITE OF our imperfections. Even with our failings, He strengthens us for the journey ahead. For this reason, we must go willingly to proclaim the ‘Good News’ to those who need it most.
The Good News which we must share is that we must be continually in right relationship with Christ, so that when He comes to call us, we may be ready to enter into His heavenly Kingdom.
May we always hear the call of Christ and encourage one another with His Good News.
