T&T’s Consecration to the Eucharist Prayer

The Archdiocese of Port of Spain is encouraging the Catholic faithful to say a special prayer at Corpus Christi Masses this year. Corpus Christi, considered The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body & Blood of Christ, will culminate the Archdiocese’s 33-day Journey to Eucharistic Glory.

Parishes and faith communities are asked to pray the ‘Consecration to the Eucharist Prayer’ during Communion Meditation at Mass (before the post-Communion prayer and final blessing).

Consecration to the Eucharist Prayer

My Lord Jesus Christ truly present in the Holy Eucharist, I consecrate myself wholeheartedly to your Eucharistic presence.
I love you above all things with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength.
I thank you for giving yourself and remaining with us in the Holy Eucharist. I worship and adore you profoundly.

I surrender myself to a deeper worship of you in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the adoration of your Presence in the tabernacle.
I pray you give me the strength to worship you there whenever possible and as much as possible.
I promise to be a Eucharistic apostle calling others to Holy Mass and Eucharistic adoration.

My Lord, I promise to prepare more worthily for the celebration of the Holy Mass.
Please help me to abide in those precious moments of union in deep silence in the Church. May my witness call others deep into your silent love. Please give me a burning hunger to desire you in Holy Communion above all else.
Lord Jesus, pardon my unbelief and increase my faith to know your gaze from the tabernacle.
I pray for the grace to let myself be loved by your Eucharistic heart so I can bring your love to others. Help me become you in the world.

I will try to seek you in the Holy Eucharist with all my heart all the days of my life.

Amen.

The Consecration prayer is an alternative prayer to the one given in Matthew Kelly’s book – 33 Days to Eucharistic Glory which has been a guide for faithful on the journey. Fr Jesse Maingot OP who led the initiative shared Matthew Kelly’s consecration prayer from his book can also be prayed.
