“For all things are possible with God.”
Mark 10: 17-27
This Gospel reminds us of the importance of spiritual values. It is an illusion to think we have control. The lover of the soul requires that we be set free from worldly possessions. “These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.”
True freedom and power is the capacity to obey God. Jesus is saying, “If you want me, then you have to die to yourself!” How much easier it is for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter The Kingdom of God. A tragedy of materialism!
We are here to live out the purpose for which we were created. Domestic life is looked at as hum-drum. But not a single action is lost with God.
He is calling us to give Him our days. God wants our ‘yes’ to really be “yes.” Letting go, is what leads to a deeper awareness of God in our heart. We need His grace.
