The Archdiocese of Port of Spain’s Sherrinne Goodridge has been selected as the Youth Delegate to attend the International Youth Ministry Congress in Rome, Italy May 22–26, at the Casa d’accoglienza “Il Carmelo”.
Organised by the Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life, this Congress brings together youth leaders from around the world to discuss and shape the future of youth ministry in the Catholic Church. The theme of this year’s Congress is Synodal youth ministry: new leadership styles and strategies.
A May 6 release from the Antilles Episcopal Conference (AEC) Youth and Vocation Commission said that the meeting will take the opportunity to revisit the 2018 Synod Final Document and the Post Synodal Apostolic Exhortation Christus Vivit.
Goodridge and Archbishop Kenneth Richards of Kingston, Jamaica, Chairman for the Youth and Vocation Commission will be the AEC delegates for the Congress.
Goodridge shared she is “deeply honoured and excited” for this opportunity to represent the youth of the AEC. The Congress will feature workshops, panel discussions, and networking opportunities aimed at strengthening youth ministry worldwide.
