On May 4, the ‘Best Spicy Trini Seasoning’ debuted at the Maracas farmer’s market on the compound of the St Michael’s RC Church, Maracas St Joseph.
This condiment was created by the children of Maracas RC School’s Standard Three class who were entrepreneurs for the day.
Fr Mikhail Woodruffe O Carm promoted the product in church so there was anticipation. The 20 bottles of seasoning were sold quickly.
The children shared with the public the ingredients used including chive and chadon beni which they had planted at the school and the production process. They advised the public to scan the QR Code to view the school’s Facebook page for videos and photos.
The children were guided by their class teacher Quincy Campbell and had support from their principal Denise Gordon, staff, and a parent who generously lent a blender and bowls for use.
