An Unlikely Success Story gifted to POS schools

Copies of An Unlikely Success Story, a local biography of Deacon Lennox Toussaint were distributed to 17 schools in Port of Spain on April 12. The book was launched last July at the VIP Room at the Queen’s Park Savannah.

A holder of a master’s degree from UTT’s carnival programme, and recipient of the 2021 Hummingbird Medal Silver for his contribution to culture, Rev Toussaint urged the Ministry of Education to look at the writing of older calypsonians and have students engage with them.

The deacon said his motivation in giving the books to the schools was to provide inspiration to students and teachers. The book was written and edited by journalist Tony Rakhal-Fraser.
