Friday April 19th: Living in Christ

We do not only know about Jesus because we read or heard about Him, but we have a close bond with Him, a personal relationship.

John 6: 52 – 59

Today Jesus reminds us that, “He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood live in me and I live in him.” What does it mean to live in Christ?

The concept of living in Christ implies a dynamic relationship with Him, one in which we receive Him in the Eucharist and show Him through our lives. We invite Jesus to dwell in us, transform us and show that transformation in our daily living to the extent that our thoughts, attitudes and actions reflect Jesus living in and through us.

Living in Christ implies intimacy. We do not only know about Jesus because we read or heard about Him, but we have a close bond with Him, a personal relationship. It implies Jesus being a part of our joys and sorrows, our struggles and successes, our experiences and our hopes. This intimacy creates a sense of unity between us and Him.

Living in Christ leads to a deeper commitment to His teachings and expectations on our part.
