‘Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life…’
John 3:31-36
John boldly declares the supremacy of Jesus, affirming that Jesus comes from above and is above all. He emphasizes that Jesus speaks with divine authority because he has seen and heard directly from God the Father.
He challenges us to recognize and submit to Jesus’ authority in our lives, trusting in him as the source of the fullness of life.
Often as followers of the Risen Christ we act and behave as oppressed. We fail to internalize the victory of the Risen Christ over the way of the world.
As we reflect on John’s testimony, may we be inspired to wholeheartedly trust in Jesus, embrace his lordship, and experience the life that he offers to all who believe in him.
