“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.”
John 3: 16 -21
God’s Love is the greatest Love that we could ever experience. How and why, you may ask. Firstly, the greatness of the One who is loving us is undeniable; it is God Himself who loves us, immeasurably.
He loves us infinitely, despite our own human condition of sinfulness and indifference. St. Paul tells the Romans (and all of us, by extension) that “while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Rom. 5:8). What great Love!
God also shows His Love for us by His action towards us – he gives to us the greatest of His gifts – that of His Only Begotten Son; His natural Son – “…consubstantial with the Father.” Each one of us can receive the outpouring of such generous Love in all its fullness.
Lastly, but not least, each one of us can glory in the hope of Eternal Life. He asks only that we believe in Him so that we do not perish, but have Eternal Life, which He obtained for us through death on a Cross.
Thank You Lord!
