It is the beginning of a conversation that has to continue. This is not just today; it has to go on after. The information shared today was definitely enough to spur further conversations and open the idea we are not just sitting in a bubble, where everything is cheesecake and ice-cream; children are exposed to really illegal and hardcore content that they really don’t know how to process.

It was like a tsunami of information being thrown at us; it was a whole lot of stuff. Fortunately, I did Theology of the Body, so I was able follow some of what was offered. I do a section of the Marriage Preparation. I do the theological aspect of it so I was looking for areas I could incorporate in what I teach. I was able to find a few things like at the end there, the whole sacred role of parents in teaching their children about sex and the glory of sex.

It was enlightening. It caused me to delve a little bit deeper into how I respond to others with gender issues and their questions, what love we are to exhibit to those questioning their identity, their orientation stuff like that.

It was very informative. It reminded me of my experience growing up as a child and how we were brought up as children when it comes to sexuality, how it can affect how we operate today. And how traditions from before ‘Be quiet, don’t say nothing when you are around adults’ that can lead to abuse later on…They have a lot of resources which I am definitely going to look into and be able to take something greater than this day because this day was packed, and I know they have so much more available.
