‘…as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so also the Son gives life to whomever he wishes.’
John 5: 17-30
Jesus promises the gift of life to whoever hears his word, believes and embraces him as Son of God and Savior of the world. Life is not merely a future reality but a present experience of communion with God, lived in intimate relationship with the Holy Trinity.
If we embrace the gift of life offered to us through faith in Jesus, each day becomes a joyful celebration. Today so many of us experience anxiety, worry and stress. In response, we seek compensation in material possessions, illicit relationships or various addictions, when what we really desire is a life-giving relationship with Jesus Christ.
He is calling us to such a life-giving relationship through prayer, mindfulness, gratitude and service. If we take up the offer and trust in him our lives will be gradually transformed. We begin to experience a deep sense of consolation and adopt a contemplative attitude towards life as we find God in all things.
Acknowledging God’s presence in ordinary and extraordinary moments of life, we can live with a greater sense of purpose, meaning, and joy.
