The Catholic News Team received confirmation of the death of Fr Leo Donovan, OP today, (Saturday, February 17) from Fr Dwight Black OP, Fr Tom Lawson OP, and Fr John Harris OP – the Irish Provincial of the Dominican Order.
The report also included that Prior Donal Roche, OP, and Jordan O’Brien, OP were with him.
Fr Leo was ordained to the priesthood on July 9, 1967 and came to Trinidad and Tobago in 1968. He retired in 2016. He served at St Anthony’s RC Church, Petit Valley among many others.
“I am grateful to Trinidad and the Church in Trinidad.” A sentiment shared by many priests who come into our archdiocese to serve. These same sentiments were shared by the Irish-born, Fr Leo Donovan.
