Love one another as I have loved you.
Mark 7:1-13
Jesus is not saying that you should disregard family or cultural customs or traditions. No. We know too well how to sway things our way when we want a particular outcome or have a hidden self-seeking agenda. This is our struggle: the fiend – our exalted self can go so far as to act uncharitably towards our own loved ones…those closest to us.
Lord, let all I do be done in love. For this is the command of the Lord: “To act justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God”.
Our lady of Sorrows we have recourse to Thee. Intercede for us so that our secret thoughts may be laid bare. May our hearts be converted to the Divine Will, which is Love and Mercy Itself.
Amen.
